EVART — Joan Ilene Seath of Eustis, Fla., formerly of Evart, Mich., passed away in the early hours of Friday, April 13, 2018 at the Ruleme Center in Eustis, Fla. She was 78.
Joan was born November 9, 1938 to Irving and Cleo (Seel) Howell of Lake, Mich. Joan attended and graduated from Farwell High School in 1956. She married James Richard Seath of Evart on December 5, 1986 and he passed away May 12, 2018, almost one month after Joan.
Joan worked for the Evart Elevator for many years helping local farmers with supplies. She loved going to yard sales, playing weekly Bingo, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.
Joan is survived by her son, Steven Lauman of Barryton; stepchildren, Dixie Hainley of Hersey, and Vicki (Craig) Hillstead of Plainwell; seven grandchildren, Jesika (Brent) Ayers of Evart, Jayme (Cullie) Smith of Big Rapids, Jacqui (Dan) Gorczewicz of Chassell, Alysas Lauman of Evart, Lyndsie Hainley of Evart, Alicia Hillstead of Plainwell, C.J. Hillstead of Plainwell; nine great-grandchildren, Jake and Caleb Hutchinson, Hali Rader, Hanna and Callie Smith, Justin and Kelsie Gorczewicz, Zoey Hartnett, and Rohan Lauman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Richard Seath; her daughter, Tamara Lauman; two grandchildren, Nicole Dodd, and Chastity Lauman; and her stepson, Michael Hainley.
A Celebration of Life honoring Joan Ilene Seath will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at the Corey Funeral Home in Evart with Pastor Dave Scott officiating. Joan will be laid to rest in the Howell family plot in Garfield Township Cemetery, Clare County, Mich.
