EVART — Traffic was backed up about an hour Sunday after a multi-vehicle crash shut down U.S. 10 in Orient Township near Evart.
At around 1:45 p.m., troopers from the Mount Pleasant post responded to a crash near 30th Avenue.
A motorhome traveling eastbound was unable to stop in time for the traffic in front of him and he crashed into a vehicle, causing it to roll over. This vehicle, in turn, struck the van in front of it, forcing it into another vehicle.
There were no injuries to the occupants of the motorhome. The driver of the rollover vehicle was transported to Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The passenger of that vehicle was treated at the scene. The driver and occupants of the van were treated and released at the scene. The occupants of the last car involved were also transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers were assisted by Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies, Evart Police Department, Osceola County EMS, Missaukee County EMS, and Evart Fire and Rescue.
Seatbelts and child restraints were used by all involved. Alcohol and drugs are not believed to be factors.
