EVART — Arthur Jude, of Evart, passed away peacefully, Monday, April 9, 2018, at Spectrum Health Big Rapids Hospital. He was 80.
Mr. Jude was born May 30, 1937, in Lovely, Kentucky, to Hiram and Denice (Maynard) Jude. He married Nancy Ann Chapman August 11, 1958, in Flat Rock, Michigan, and she preceded him in death July 29, 2003. Art worked for Great Lakes Steel, retiring in 1989, and moved to Evart. He enjoyed going to the casino and was a member of the Evart Moose Lodge. Art was an avid University of Kentucky Wildcats Basketball fan.
Mr. Jude is survived by two daughters, JoAnn Elkins of Evart, and Jackie Jude of Evart; his son, Hiram (Heather) Jude of Battle Creek; granddaughter, Gabby Jude of Battle Creek; three grandsons, Christopher Jude of Greenville, South Carolina; Richard Elkins of Portland, Oregon, Arron Elkins of Chicago, Illinois; one great-grandson, Achillies Elkins of Phoenix, Arizona; and his sister, Rebecca Webb of Grove City, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Nancy; two sisters, Rachael and Thelma; and four brothers, Cass, L.B., Jasper and Bernie.
Funeral services for Arthur Jude are 11 a.m., Friday, April 13, at the Corey Funeral Home in Evart with Brother Omar Miller officiating. Visitation is 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018, at the funeral home. Mr. Jude will be laid to rest next to his wife in Forest Hill Cemetery, Evart, Michigan.
